Study Abroad at US, UK and Canadian Universities Without IELTS???
It is commonly understood that to study abroad at the world’s leading Universities you have to pass rigorous examinations like IELTS and TOEFL to establish your knowledge of English as a non-native English speaker.
But Is IELTS or TOEFL a mandatory prequalification to study abroad?
It is less commonly known that there are Universities abroad that do NOT insist on such preconditions. You can pursue your studies there WITHOUT first writing TOEFL, IELTS or any other test of language. Such tests assess your ability to understand English in a University environment. They consist of grueling modules that are designed to accurately indicate the standard of English you can employ at speaking, writing and reading. This is a daunting task for non-native English speaking students, who may have excellent academic records. Sometimes the local accent of students who actually understand and speak good English is a great obstacle.
But it is a fact that are places you can go to, even in US, UK and Canadian Universities, that admit you without requiring such demanding prequalifications like IELTS or TOEFL In Germany, USA and Australia, Universities host ‘pathway programs’ for students to enroll without proving their grasp of English. Pathway programs are intended to initiate students and prepare them for the actual course for which they cannot immediately be admitted due to prequalifications in English and even other academic subjects. The program spans across nine to fifteen months by which time you will be entitled to study at a University that cannot admit you to an undergraduate/ graduate degree course, on the basis of your High School score.

credentials have to sign up for the Bridge Program and the University

completed one year of full time academic study at an American Institution, he can forgo any language proficiency credentials.
These American universities admit foreign students on the only precondition that they enroll for the IELP ( Intensive English Language Program )

The University of Queensland admits you after completing a full-time course in

begins.

What are Pathway Programs?
Pathway programs are programs to groom international students for the academic
environment they will enter. They will instill certain skills, knowledge, and some
confidence in foreign students. These programs help students who find it difficult to
qualify for bachelor’s or master’s courses. Many countries like Canada, Australia and
the US, offer Pathway Programs to assist international students to fulfill the course
prerequisites.
These programs extend for around a year but no certification is awarded. Pathway
programs familiarize you with English in the destination country without having to labour
through language proficiency tests. The stress is on English skills in an academic
environment.
